Bandwidth Reports

David Apr 11, 2012 08:22AM PDT

From the Dashboard, when you click on the Bandwidth tab and look at the amount of bandwidth being displayed, what is the time period of this usage and why does it not say "since xx-2012" or something like that? I'd like to see bandwidth just for certain time periods. Where are the "how-to's" for this product?

Hey David,

In TMG Reporter 2.1, the time is now displayed in the title of the report.

We have also introduced detailed activity reports that give you a chronological view of activity throughout the day. For example, run an Activity report on a user or site to see exactly when the activity occurred along with full URLs, timestamps, categories and disposition (blocked / allowed).

Check it out at http://fastvue.co/TMGReporter21

Cheers!

Hi David,

Great question. When clicking a 'Run Report' link on the dashboard, a report is run for the current day from 12am. The title of the report mentions the date, but does not specify the time range within that date. I agree that this needs to be presented in the application somewhere, so thanks for the feedback!

As for How Tos, we have the Getting Started guide at http://fastvue.co/getting-started and we're continually adding knowledge base articles to http://support.fastvue.co. But our philosophy with TMG Reporter has always been to make it as simple as possible so that customers don't need to consult a user guide or 'how to'.

Thanks for telling us about this particular situation that could be more obvious and we'll look at implementing a good solution that hopefully doesn't clutter the interface too much.

If you are looking for a report that breaks down usage within a day, we will be working on a detailed chronological report very soon. The idea is you'll be able to drill into a user for example, and see a list of the sites and URLs accessed, ordered by time throughout the day. Expect to see this as an update relatively soon.

Cheers!
Scott.
